Royal Bank of Canada Raises Quarterly Dividend by 2.2%

Royal Bank of Canada's board raised the quarterly dividend by 2.2%, to 1.38 Canadian dollars (US$1.01) from C$1.35.
The new payout, equal to C$5.52 a year, represents an annual yield of about 4.65% based on Wednesday's closing price of C$118.81, up from 4.55%.
The Toronto banking giant on Thursday said the increased dividend is payable Feb. 23 to shareholders of record Jan. 25.
