On Oct. 1, 2024, Taylor Hinshaw will be disclosed as an equity portfolio manager on American Funds Income Fund of America. He will be the seventh equity manager here; this group works alongside four fixed-income managers. Hinshaw, who joined advisor Capital Group in 2001 as an equity analyst, has also comanaged American Funds Small Cap World since December 2023. His addition to this fund doesn’t alter its Above Average People Pillar rating. This fund has seen significant equity manager turnover since the start of 2022 owing to three retirements and the 2023 death of Bradley Vogt. But managers with extensive experience choosing dividend-paying stocks here and elsewhere remain on board, and the firm’s taxable fixed-income team is well-regarded.
