BlackRock Event Driven's Chris Murphy, who oversaw the strategy's credit sleeve, departed BlackRock on April 1, 2024. Murphy joined the firm in 2014 and began supporting this strategy as a sleeve manager in May 2015, the same time as its two other sleeve managers and the fund’s lead and only named manager, Mark McKenna. Ben Brill and Nathan Gordon, experienced managers overseeing the hard and soft catalyst sleeves, respectively, will take over guiding the credit research process in Murphy's place. A seven-person research team provides support across the spectrum of corporate events.
