Kuaishou Earnings: Lowering Fair Value by 9% as China’s Macro Woes Dampen E-Commerce Business

We lower our fair value estimate to HKD 70 per share from HKD 77 after Kuaishou reported a mixed second quarter that saw better-than-expected revenue due to a milder-than-expected revenue decline from livestreaming, as well as continued momentum and slight outperformance in advertising revenue, which rose 22% year on year. Second-quarter revenue was CNY 40.0 billion versus our estimate of CNY 30.5 billion. Livestreaming revenue fell only 7% year on year, compared with our expectation of a double-digit decline.
