Japan Automakers to Halt Domestic Operations as Typhoon Hits

TOKYO--Japan's "big three" automakers are set to pause some production operations in the country as it braces for the impact of powerful typhoon.
Toyota Motor plans to temporarily halt operations on 28 production lines at 14 factories on Friday, it said Thursday.
Honda Motor said its factory in Kumamoto Prefecture on Friday will remain suspended, while Nissan Motor said it planned to stop production at its factories on the southern island of Kyushu until at least Friday afternoon.
Typhoon Shanshan made landfall in the Kyushu region on Thursday, according to Japan's weather agency.
