RELX Backs Full-Year Guidance After Revenue, Profit Growth

RELX backed its full-year guidance after delivering revenue and profit growth in the first half of the year.
The FTSE 100 listed information-and-analytics group said Thursday that pretax profit for the half year ended June 30 rose to 1.3 billion pounds ($1.68 billion), from GBP1.14 billion for the same period last year.
Stripping out exceptional and other one-off items adjusted pretax profit was GBP1.45 billion compared with GBP1.35 billion.
Revenue rose to GBP4.64 billion, from GBP4.5 billion.
The company said it continues to see positive momentum across the group, and expects a year of strong underlying growth in revenue and adjusted operating profit, as well as strong growth in adjusted earnings per share on a constant currency basis.
The board declared a dividend of 18.2 pence a share, up 7% from 17.0 pence.
