Intuitive Surgical 2Q Revenue Up 14%

Intuitive Surgical posted another quarter of double-digit revenue growth as use and installation of its robot-assisted surgery systems remains strong.
The Sunnyvale, Calif.-based company reported a profit of $527 million, or $1.46 a share, compared with a profit of $421 million, or $1.18 a share, in the year ago quarter.
Excluding one-time items, the company reported adjusted earnings of $1.78 a share. Analysts polled by FactSet expected $1.54 a share.
Revenue rose 14% to $2.01 billion, topping the $1.97 billion expected by analysts.
Intuitive Surgical said procedures with its da Vinci robotic systems rose 17% compared to the year ago quarter, while the company's installed base rose 14% from a year earlier.
