Thales Gets Contract to Provide French Army With Satellite Communication Stations

By Cristina Gallardo

Thales won a contract to provide 30 satellite communication stations to the French Army.

The French aerospace and defense company said Friday that the order will allow the French Army to manage satellite data with a high level of protection from jamming, cyberattacks and other risks.

The value of the contract hasn't been disclosed. It is part of the Syracuse IV program to upgrade the satellite communications stations used by the French armed forces.

The deal follows a previous order for the deployment of satellite communications stations on French Navy surface vessels and for the development and production of fixed and mobile stations for the French ground and air forces.
