Henkel Looking to Cut Further Jobs in Restructuring Program
By Ulrike Dauer
Henkel said it expects further job cuts in the second phase of the group's restructuring of the consumer brands segment, related to the optimization of the supply chain.
The German chemical and consumer-goods company's chief executive, Carsten Knobel said Monday in a media-telephone conference that the job cuts couldn't be quantified at this point.
In the first phase of the restructuring program, 2,000 jobs were cut worldwide, 300 of which were in Germany, with the company aiming to save 275 million euros ($298.1 million) annually from the end of 2024 instead of EUR250 million, the company said.
In 2023, 800 positions were eliminated as part of the second phase, but the final number can't be extrapolated.
