Santander Increases Final Dividend, Launches Buyback Program

Santander declared a new share buyback and increased its final dividend for 2023.
The Spanish lender said Monday that its total shareholder remuneration for 2023 will amount to 5.54 billion euros ($5.97 billion), approximately 50% of the group's attributable profit, with a final dividend of 9.50 Euro cents a share.
Therefore, the total cash dividend per share amounts to 17.60 Euro cents, up 50% compared to the cash dividend against 2022. The final dividend for 2023 is subject for approval at the annual general meeting on March 22, to be paid on May 2, it said.
Furthermore, the bank will launch a share buyback program for EUR1.46 billion on Tuesday, the company said.
